The Manga Lithium project (previously explored for tin and indium) is located in the north east of Goias state, Central Brazil. Crusader explored the ground for tin, indium and gold mineralisation in the region during 2007 and later mapped, soil sampled, rock chipped and drilled 15 reverse circulation holes, compiling an initial database of geological information about the area. Rock chip samples returned up to 1.3 per cent. Li2O within a zinnwaldite-rich greisen zone.
In April 2016, Crusader entered into a joint venture with Lepidico Ltd for the pursuit of lithium opportunities in Brazil, commencing with the Manga project.
On 25 July 2017, Crusader announced the termination of the joint venture with Lepidico on mutually agreed terms, following which the Manga Lithium project is now 100 per cent. owned by Crusader.
Crusader is currently conducting a review of data for early stage greenfields exploration to assess the project’s viability for lithium and will look to monetise this opportunity to allow it to focus on its gold projects.
